Metal mass and density
This is weightlifting with a difference. Lift a block of volume 1 litre of a metal and feel that the weight difference between the metals. What is going on?
The weight of the different metals depends on their density, or the density between the atoms of the metal.
Six different metallic elements have been cast in milk packages. Their densities can be easily compared here. The least dense metal of the six is magnesium. The most dense is osmium, which is twice as dense as lead. Osmium is a very rare element, so we have chosen to illustrate it with a weight suspended under the metal block. In terms of physics, "density" is described as the mass per unit volume.
